Corporate Master Vs Corporate Servant

Every master was once a servant and in fact the master is the best servant – through deeds and thoughts. But whether the person is meant to be a servant or a master is too individualist an ides to comment upon. Ultimately it is one’s own perception.

But who is a corporate master and who is the servant? If a CEO is a corporate master, then he is also the best servant of that organization. If an entrepreneur is a master of the organization then his decisions are a slave to the market. One cannot isolate the qualities that the two ideologies have. They are both intertwined and dependent. A management graduate is meant to be a servant. The illusion of being the master to someone or something should not guide one to a thought that he is at the pinnacle. In fact, it’s a flat world out there. At all times, a management graduate is a servant whether it is in an organization at the entry level or the top brass. There is no master. That’s way we are a part of a “Service Industry”. We garner skills to better our services – the only difference being whether to help an established set of servants or to venture on our own. But whatever be the position that one feels is in, there should be one goal –Excellence.
